Liposuction is the surgical method of localized removal of fat (adipocytes) from an affected area of the body.
It should be noted that liposuction is not a weight loss method. The surgery sculpts your body, and eliminates undesirable fat accumulation in buttocks, hips, abdomen and sides, thighs, calves, ankles, knees, breasts (including the male breast when treated for gynecomastia), back, arms and neck.
Liposuction is often combined with other cosmetic procedures such as lipofection or, otherwise, liposculpture to create a desired body contour and is the queen of cosmetic surgery in the world.
When to consider liposuction
During the clinical examination I will analytically explain to you all the advantages and disadvantages.
I will inform you that the results may be affected by weight gain, ageing or pregnancy and that liposuction is not intended to improve the appearance of cellulite or loose skin, but to remove localized fat.
I might also advise you to lose weight so that you will reap more benefits from liposuction.
How to know if you need liposuction
Diet and exercise has not helped everyone to get rid of persistent local fat.
The following are some of the most common reasons why you might want to consider undergoing liposuction:
How liposuction is performed
Liposuction removes fat from your body with the use of a cannula (blunt-tipped tube) that is inserted through tiny incisions in the skin.
I am going to move this cannula below the skin to target the fat depots and then aspirate fat. There is a variety of techniques which facilitate liposuction. Personally, I use classic liposuction and liposuction with Vaser.
In classic liposuction, I carry out the procedure manually. With the performance of rhythmic movements in areas where there is fat, the fat is dissolved and subsequently siphoned off. The result is final when we have achieved permanent destruction of fat cells.
In liposuction with our state-of-the-art medical VASER ultrasonic device, an ultrasound probe disperses energy evenly, breaks down fat and then removes it. In fact, the ultrasonic waves that convert solid fat into liquid is the comparative advantage of the method, which facilitates handling of the most difficult areas without causing trauma to the surrounding tissues, thus dramatically reducing any swelling and hematomas.
Be aware that, in any case, excess fat removal must be avoided as there is a risk of asymmetries, that is “pits”, developing on the skin.
The operation is performed in an organized operating room under local anesthesia and sedation in the presence of an anesthesiologist, and does not require hospital stay.
In both cases mentioned above, liposculpture can be performed. This means that, by special treatment and centrifugation, the aspirated fat is transferred to areas where there is shortage, such as facial wrinkles, lips, buttocks – to achieve a Brazilian lift, scars, as well as to the breasts instead of silicone implants.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS
I managed to fit again in the jeans I bought 2 years ago. I can’t thank you enough! Such an amazing team!
I was planning to have abdominoplasty, but, in the end, all I needed was a simple liposuction. I have only this to say: an ethical physician and an extraordinary scientist.
